But we simply don't have the data to make such a rating work. It shouldn't matter what tier they play to achieve that rating. Then someone with skill >9k should also get 5k WN8 at tier 2. Let's say it takes a skill over >9k to get 5k WN8 at tier 10. What we really need is a way to assess how hard it is to achieve a given WN8 at a tier. A mix tier would have a mixed average tier, and a smurf tier 10 would still have a high average tier. since we dont have indication of how many battle a person solo or platoon, some could simply be carried by their platoon mate. the reason why i suggest to exclude WR is to see if a person being carried in platoon or not. Hence if people choose to pad in the lower tiers then they'll be easily identifiable. The problem is that at the moment the ideal scenario as rexnex hints at - ie that doing really well at any tier should garner about the same WN8 - is not represented. Why should a penalty be applied to low tiers? We still have average tier. If WNx stops including it, or at least trying to correlate with it, it will move further into the realms of some metric people pad rather than what people do to win a battle. The inclusion of WR appears a concession that the metric can't encompass all that goes into winning a battle. Ideally the ability to pad WN8 should be relatively even across the tiers. That's why WN8 padders are sticking to 10s. And yet it's the other way around at the moment.
